A Trailblazer in Education and Career
Crystal embarked on an educational journey that reflected her determination and drive. She graduated from Emerson Vocational High School in 1982 with a focus on quantity food preparation. Her early ambition led her to the Continental School of Beauty Culture, where she graduated in 1983, becoming a skilled hair beautician. However, her dreams didn't stop there.

Her passion for healthcare drove her to pursue a career in nursing. She graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) from Buffalo Vocational Technical Center in 2000, and she aspired to become a Registered Nurse (RN) at D'Youville University until her cancer diagnosis forced her to halt her studies. Crystal's career included a long and fulfilling tenure as a nurse's aide at Sheehan Memorial Hospital, where she worked for 15+ years. She later served as the head nurse for the practice of Dr. Kimbo B. Chia, a general surgeon, where her dedication and love for her patients shone brightly.

As a single mother, she balanced her career, education, and motherhood seamlessly, ensuring that her girls received unwavering support, memorable experiences, and love. She went above and beyond to be present at every significant moment in their lives, from basketball games to school events, dance recitals, and more. Her role as a mother extended beyond a familial connection; she was their best friend.

She was also a former member of the Zion Dominion Church Choir, known for her prompt soprano and her infectious love for worship. Crystal's faith was unshakable, and her favorite saying was "God's got this."
